It is Emily’s 30th birthday and Viv needs to find her something special.  The type of gift that is the perfect 30th birthday gift - something unique.  This is where Second Début comes into the picture.  Second Début is and has been one of Viv’s favorite clothing stores since she has been living in Minneapolis for the last three years.  Second Début has been open since 2005 and when you walk inside its doors with the crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling you would be forgiven for thinking it is an upscale consignment store  - but in fact Second Début is part of the Goodwill Easter Seals family and this is what makes it so unique - shopping that goes towards a good cause - something  every female shopper young and old should toast to!

This episode of High Street to My Street invites us into the life (for a brief moment) of our host as she shops the Twin Cities for that perfect birthday gift.  Join Viv in this episode, and others, as she goes from Cuppa Java for lunch to Second Début to find a present for Emily ending up at the party at Lilly’s Wine Bar and Cafe in Osseo and shows you the shopping potential in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area that is often in your own back yard.

After 5 years in London I knew  all the best  places to go to, all the  “nook and cranny” shops where I found what you wouldn’t find in normal  every day stores. So, why move away from the home of Hugh Grant and high teas?  I met a  Minnesotan and moved to the Twin Cities. After my love affair with London high streets - would Minnesota measure up?

What I’ve found is when you find the right places any place can feel  like home.

Welcome to High Street to My Street - the show that focuses on unique retailers doing something special within the Twin Cities metro area - helping people to think outside the big retail box and go back local to their neighborhoods for that unqiue flavor of finding that special something - that special shopping hang out.

Last night we had our launch party at Second Debut, the first of our featured retailers for our pilot show.  There was champagne flowing, great people, great shopping - a good evening all round!  Thank you to everyone who was there and if you weren’t there…then what are you waiting for…watch what you missed out on and for a hint of more to come!
